It happened almost overnight – the entire nation started wearing ropers and Wranglers. Every bar in every town switched to a country theme and encouraged line dancing. Musical acts cashed in with line-dance-friendly songs, the number of country radio stations doubled, and dozens of new country singers and bands emerged that moved the genre into the mainstream. The common link: Everyone was following the leader – Garth Brooks.
Garth Brooks is the most significant musical performer of my era. Much like the Beatles (or Elvis), Garth is one of those once-in-a-generation acts that it will always be cool to say that you’ve seen.
My point: This is a bucket list show. See him if you can.
