The annual I-55 Band Clinic was held February 1st and 2nd at Northwest Mississippi Community College. The fine arts department there has hosted the event for the past 30 years. Director John Ungurait told the Times Tribune that the event is a great recruiting tool for the band program. Area junior and senior high school band students are selected by their directors to attend the event each year. Students are also allowed to audition for placements in honor bands. 18 different schools took part in this year’s event, with a total of nearly 300 students.
