The Mississippi Shelter-In-Place order takes affect at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2020, and will remain in place until Monday, April 20, 2020, at 8 a.m.

This order does not mean that you should lock yourself inside your home. Instead, it is a tool designed to slow down the spread of COVID-19 and prevent overwhelming the state’s medical providers.

You may leave your home for work at an essential business, getting food and supplies, caring for the vulnerable population.

When outside of the home for essentials, practice social distancing of 6 ft from others, and avoid groups of 10 or more.

You may go outdoors, but not gather in groups.

Outdoor Parks, playgrounds, beaches, public lakes, and reservoirs will close.
